Long began his career in gaming in the late 1970s as a staff member of the Gaming Control Board of Reno, Nevada. He transitioned thereafter to Harrah’s Reno Hotel & Casino, where he rotated through several departments, including surveillance, table games and operations. Since then, Long has held leadership positions throughout various Midwest and Central U.S. gaming markets — Davenport, Iowa; Biloxi, Mississippi; St. Louis, Missouri — successfully managing full-service casinos.
Long has particular expertise in establishing new properties in emerging gaming markets, having led several developments through construction, opening and early operations. Notably, Long managed the ground-up developments of Rainbow Casino and Riverwalk Casino and Hotel, both in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Riverwalk was Rush Street’s first U.S. casino development.
“Rob is an exceptional individual, with a well-established track record of running top-performing casinos all over the country,” said Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming. “We are thrilled to have him back at Rush Street as the general manager of Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady.”
