The Dutch government announced a partial lockdown until at least Dec. 3 due to a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations.
New measures will be taken, including mandatory closing times (6 p.m.) for land gambling venues, including casinos and slot machine arcades.
All visitors to the gambling center must continue to present a valid coronavirus pass. Other short-term measures include requiring face masks in places that do not require a coronavirus pass. People should stay 1.5 meters apart where they don’t need a pass.
For sporting events, spectators are not allowed to attend professional and amateur events.
The government expects these measures to reverse the trend and be able to fully open up again if positive cases fall.
