The European Football Association (UEFA) is also excited about Kim Min-jae, 27, joining the German giants.
Kim officially confirmed his arrival at Bayern Munich on June 19 (KST). He signed a five-year contract with the Bavarians until June 2028 and will wear the number 3 jersey, just like he did at Napoli.
Kim’s move to Munich had been confirmed earlier. European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on social media that “Munich have paid Napoli the buyout fee for the signing of Kim Min-jae,” emphasizing that the deal had been finalized.
UEFA, which organizes the Champions League, has also expressed interest in the player. UEFA posted a photo of Kim’s arrival on social media on Tuesday with the Champions League’s iconic hashtag (#UCL), saying, “Now the new defensive wall of Bayern Munich”.
Bayern Munich is a Champions League regular. The Bavarians have won the league title in each of the last 11 seasons and have won the treble twice, in 2012-2013 and 2019-2020. They are the only club in Europe with two trips, along with Barcelona.
Kim told the club’s official website, “Munich is every soccer player’s dream team, and that’s why I decided to make the move. My first goal is to play,” he said, adding, “I want to win the Champions League, and I want to win the league and cup competitions to achieve the treble.”
Meanwhile, Kim will appear at the “Allianz FC Bayern Team Presentation 2023-2024” event at the Allianz Arena on March 23 at 1 p.m. local time in Germany.
Kim will now embark on an Asian tour with Bayern Munich that will take him to Japan and Singapore. On July 26, the team will play its first practice match against Manchester City in Tokyo, Japan, followed by a match against Kawasaki F.Frontale (Japan) on July 29. On August 2, the team will travel to Singapore to face Liverpool (England). 파워볼게임
