Wonju DB became the first team to reach the 15-win plateau for the season.
DB won 88-74 at home against Daegu KOGAS in the 2023-2024 regular season at Wonju General Gymnasium in 텍사스홀덤 Gangwon Province on Thursday.
With the win, DB improved to 15-3 and retained sole possession of first place. They have a three-game lead over second-place Suwon KT and Changwon LG (both 11-5). Meanwhile, KOGAS, at 2-14, remained in last place. They are 0.5 games behind ninth-place Seoul Samsung (3-14).
In a matchup between the first-place and last-place teams, the first-place DB showed off its power advantage. They took a 15-point lead, 50-35, at the end of the first half, and extended their lead to 23 points, 86-63, at the end of the fourth quarter, making it a one-sided game.
DB captain Kang Sang-jae led the team with 18 points, while Dedrick Lawson (17 points, 7 rebounds) and Lee Sun Albano (15 points, 7 assists) also had strong performances. The team also shot 22 three-pointers, hitting 12 of them for a 55 percent clip.
For KOGAS, which was without Kim Nak-hyun due to a knee injury, Samjosef Belangel led both teams in scoring with 20 points. However, the offense was lackluster, with Shin Seung-min’s seven points being the most among Korean players.
