
Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea’s representative hot spring city, has received the designation of ‘Korea’s Representative Hot Spring City No. 1’ from the government.On the 27th, the county announced that Sung Nak-in, the county’s governor, received the designation from Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety Kogi Dong at the ‘2023 Korea Hot Spring Industry Expo’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the Onyang Tourist Hotel in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.
Changnyeong County, which has many sports facilities linked to hot springs, including a sports park, a national sports center, a gate ball field, and an archery field, was designated as the country’s first hot spring city last month in recognition of its distinction from other hot spring regions.
“The designation of Korea’s first hot spring city has recognized the excellence of Bugok Hot Springs in Changnyeong,” said Sung Nak-in, the county’s governor, “and we will do our best to make a leap forward as Korea’s representative hot spring tourism destination.” Bugok Hot Springs in Changnyeong County boasts the highest water temperature in the country at 78 degrees and high sulfur content.
