More than 15,000 visitors are expected to visit Venetian Macau when the Asia Global Gaming Expo kicks off for the 12th consecutive year. The edition consists of four main tracks: The Future of Gaming, The Future of Integrated Resorts, The Future of Digital Content & Technology, and the IAG Best Practices Institute.
Headline speakers include DICJ Director, Macau Game Inspection and Coordination Bureau, Paulo Martins Chan, and Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, CEO and Chairman of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, the son of a grandfather of modern Macau gambling and a man who has earned more than $1.2 billion in the industry.
The three-day event is organized by the American Game Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, and has been considered an outstanding show since the beginning of the Asian Games. The conference and exhibition have continued to grow over the past year, and are expected to exceed last year’s numbers by 30%.
The focus of the show is thoroughly Asian, but industry groups and scholars from the United States will lend their experiences to think tanks created by the AGA to focus on responsible gambling and address the social responsibility of operators – a critical issue for Japanese lawmakers preparing groundbreaking legislation for Japan’s integrated casino resorts. The International Game Association of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Game Equipment Manufacturing Association will contribute to this think tank.
“It’s time to comprehensively review existing responsible gaming policies and regulations,” AGA President and CEO Geoff Freeman said in a press release last month. He added: “We need to draw new discussions around proven and effective programs and ensure that the government is appropriately allocating resources.”
Other important areas to cover during the three-day event are:
Digital content and technology. Online technology providers and game developers will be featured in this corner.
The new addition to G2E Asia is the parts pipeline. Electronic game console manufacturers will create this trading platform to display products and unveil new technologies.
Another segment is Integrated Resort Technology and Business Solutions, featuring the latest Integrated Resort products and services.
Networking opportunities will be offered day and night throughout the event, and the 2018 G2E Asia Awards will select the region’s top prestigious gambling operators.
The Reed Exhibition is responsible for organizing more than 500 events in 30 countries around the world.
