“The I-League is an annual event that we participate in every year. It has the advantage of having separate preliminary and main rounds, so we can focus on the kids a little bit more. In this preliminary round, we had 10 kids and they all played well. The playing time was evenly distributed, and I think it was a good practice before the Super Cup,” said Dongdaemun head coach Tomo Jiu-jin.
Ji saw another advantage in the team’s back-to-back wins in the I-League: “It was the last time we could get our hands and feet in sync before the Super Cup in Pocheon this weekend. The Super Cup is a great opportunity for the kids to play against foreign players, so they have high expectations,” he said. “We will make good use of the strengths we have discovered through the I-League in the Super Cup, and I think this Super Cup will also have a positive impact on our kids regardless of the outcome of the match. As the team’s performance has been steadily rising recently, we will do our best to guide them to perform their best in the remaining schedule.”
The Dongdaemun Tomo Middle School 3s will compete in the NH Bank 2024 Global Youth Basketball Super Cup, which will be held on May 12, and will face Heo Jae Academy and Sendai Team from Japan.
