A 2008-born striker has set a new record for the youngest debut in Italian professional soccer’s Serie A history.AC Milan’s Francesco Camarda came on for Luka Jovetic in the 38th minute of the home match against Fiorentina in the 13th round of the 2023-2024 Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, Italy, on Saturday. The 2008-born player made his Serie A debut at the age of 15 years and 260 days, becoming the youngest player in league history to take the field .The previous record for the youngest league debut was held by defender Bismack Ameghi, who made his Serie A debut for Bologna in 2021 at the age of 15 years and 274 days. Only eight Italian players have made their Serie A debut before their 16th birthday, including Camarda.
Camarda is an AC Milan youth team standout who scored a hat trick in the third round of the Coppa Italia Primavera (Italian youth league cup) in September, leading his team to a 7-0 victory .In the Italian youth league, Primavera 1, he has scored one goal in nine appearances .He has also scored three goals in the UEFA Youth League this season, including a multi-goal performance against Newcastle.
