Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bae Ji-hwan (25), who was demoted to the minors while rehabbing a wrist injury, has returned to the big leagues.
The Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB) have recalled Bae from Triple-A Triple-A to open the season against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday (July 27).
“Former All-Star outfielder Brian Reynolds has been placed on the funeral leave list and Bae will temporarily fill in for him,” the Pittsburgh-based Post-Gazette reported, adding that Reynolds could return as soon as the 29th.
As Bae’s role is to be Reynolds’ backup when he is out of the lineup, it is possible that he will be sent back to the minors when Reynolds returns.
Bae went on a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians after being placed on the disabled list with a right wrist sprain on March 4, and was activated from the disabled list on March 25, and was granted minor league status.
He is batting .208 in eight major league games this season.
At Triple-A, he hit .355 with five home runs, 26 RBIs and 36 runs scored in 48 games. 토토사이트 추천
