The ‘former Ajax man’ Nusar Mazrawi is joining Manchester United.
German Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg said on Tuesday (10 October), “Mazurawi is going to Manchester United for €20 million. United and Bayern Munich have reached a full agreement. The player will leave Munich for a base transfer fee of €15 million plus a €5 million option. He is expected to sign a contract until 2029 and will undergo a medical shortly.”
Since the arrival of Eric ten Haag, United have brought in a number of players from the Dutch league or from Ajax. Anthony and Andre Onana are the most notable, along with Tahir Malacia and Christian Eriksen. With the exception of Onana, none of them have lived up to expectations, especially Anthony, who has been an epic failure. Nevertheless, Ten Haag continues to pin his hopes on the former Ajax man.
Mazrawi is another Ajax product. The right-back was part of a breakthrough season in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) under Eric ten Haag. He joined Munich ahead of the 2022-23 season. Unlike his time at Ajax, Mazrawi was a non-starter. In his first season in the German Bundesliga, he made 19 appearances, 11 of which were starts.
Last season was hampered by injuries. He lost his place to Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Reimer. The arrival of Sasha Boye in the winter transfer window pushed him 안전한 파워볼사이트 further down the pecking order. Mazurawi, who had become a non-striker, left the club. He may not have been the best player in Munich, but he was certainly competitive. He starred for Morocco at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, leading them to their first ever top-four finish in Africa and fourth place. He can play as a left or right full-back, making him very versatile.
United have Diogo Dalot, but with Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to leave, they have set their sights on Mazrawi. Wan-Bissaka is all but certain to join West Ham United. Transfer market pundit Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Tuesday that the move was a done deal, with a chant of ‘HERE WE GO’: “West Ham have signed Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United. A medical has been booked. The transfer fee is in the region of £15 million”.
With Wan-Bissaka’s move to West Ham all but confirmed, Mazurawi’s arrival at United is now a done deal. Matthijs de Ligt is also expected to join United from Munich. With the arrival of the former Ajax man, United fans are hoping for a different look this time around.
